Wait! Just One More Thing!

Bagley-isms

I've sat in so many meetings and watched a highly engaged board member suddenly pump the brakes on making an introduction because the organization doesn’t have a good one-pager. Sounds reasonable, I guess …

Or a staff member needs just a little more research before the program is truly ready to launch. Sounds thorough, I guess …

I've also been that person who wanted more time or a specific something (but I wasn't necessarily being reasonable or thorough, I have to admit).

At some point I started noticing how often the "one more thing" was never really about the thing.

It was about avoiding the moment when something you've worked on goes out into the world and invites judgment (the kind you dread, not welcome).

This week I wrote about how to recognize this trap (in yourself and others), how to tell the difference between genuine unreadiness and fear-based resistance, and (my favorite part) why the question you're dreading might actually be the gift you’ve been hoping for.

Aren’t You Ready Enough Already?

Let me know what you think.

Until next time,
